Hoop ("Hoop", "we", "us") is a basketball performance tracking app. This policy explains what information the app collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Hoop you agree to this policy.
Hoop's AI coaching analyzes your basketball statistics and, for video analysis, still frames extracted from clips you choose to submit. This data is sent to a third-party AI processing provider solely to generate your feedback and is not used to identify you or to train advertising profiles. We show AI features under a neutral "Powered by AI" label.
If you appear on a leaderboard, other players can see your display name, avatar emoji, country, level/XP and streak. Please choose a display name you are comfortable sharing publicly, and avoid entering personal details you don't want others to see. You can control your participation in your profile settings.
For players on the free tier, Hoop shows ads through Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). Ad partners may use device identifiers to serve and measure ads. Subscribing to Hoop Pro removes ads.
The app and this website include affiliate links to retailers such as Amazon and the NBA Store. If you buy through them we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Following an affiliate link takes you to the retailer, whose own privacy policy then applies.
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers that make the app work — including Google Firebase and Google Play (hosting, authentication, database, analytics, crash reporting, billing), our AI processing provider, and advertising partners — and where required by law.
Hoop is used by young athletes. We aim to collect as little personal information from children as possible and rely on anonymous accounts by default. Parents and guardians can manage a child's profile within the app and can request that we delete a child's data at any time using the contact below. If you believe a child has provided personal information you would like removed, please contact us and we will act promptly.
Your data is stored on your device and, when sync is enabled, in our cloud database for as long as you use the app. You can delete your local data by clearing the app or uninstalling it. To request deletion of your cloud data (sessions, profile, leaderboard entry), contact us at the address below and we will remove it.
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us.
We take reasonable measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep your data safe and to improve our protections over time.
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
